A bit more resting

36 weeks 2 days. This baby is growing tired of close ups. Thursday we packed up and left for Nashville. We headed straight for the doctors office when we got here and had an ultrasound. Baby was all snuggled up and did not want to have anyone looking at her. She did let us peek at her sweet face. Her ventricles stable and at a comfortable level. Head shape, normal as any other baby. Legs, feet, kidneys etc all look like they should. We waited and poked and actually put a buzzer on my belly a few times to wake up baby so we could see her practicing her breathing. She finally cooperated but very unwillingly. I can't imagine someone being so determined to sleep.... guess she is my own.
We are in a holding pattern here in Nashville until Wednesday. We will head in on the 25th at 6:30am and should be into surgery and hear some new baby cries by 9:30am.
We still don't know exactly what to expect but the neurologist will do an ultrasound to see exactly what her ventricles are measuring and make the final decision about a shunt. A Urologist will also be doing an ultrasound to check on bladder and kidney function. The rest of the doctors will all be ogling over the beautiful big baby in the NICU (if she even ends up staying there!!) She is estimated to be 6 lbs 4 oz.
Tomorrow Grandma arrives all the way from New Zealand.
